Flexible pond liners Overview

By far our bestselling type of pond liner are flexible pond liners. Flexible Pond Liners are simple sheets of waterproof material that flex to the shape of your pond. These pond liners are available in hundreds of sizes – simply choose the right size for your pond. The pond liner comes as a simple pre-cut sheet. All you have to do is line your pond with it (having laid down a similar sized pond liner underlay first to protect the pond liner). Just make sure you leave plenty of overlap – the golden rule is to never buy a pond liner too small for the hole you have dug! Our pond liner range includes:

Both EPDM and Butyl are rubber pond liners – PVC and LDPE are plastic. The rubber pond liners are thicker and more expensive – though in our vast experience after selling thousands of pond liners we know all of them do a great job. The rubber pond liners are thicker and therefore come with a degree of extra resilience – however the LDPE pond liner we sell (Flexiliner) is reinforced so offers resilient rip-stop properties that rubber can’t offer.

Benefits of choosing a flexible pond liner

The advantage of installing a flexible pond liner is that there are practically no limits to your scope of design. Whatever you choose to build will be an original piece of artwork. The pond you can create can be any shape from deep lagoons to flat shallow water features, from swimming ponds to ponds with an island in the middle. There is also no limit to size - although the biggest pre-cut pond liner we can currently supply is a 45 x 40m pond liner (147 feet x 131ft), a colossal 1800 sqm (19257 sq feet). Large pond liners can be created but they would need to be seamed on site.

Pond Liner Manufacture

All of our pond liners are of seamed construction – that is that one large pond liner consists of long pieces of a limited width joined together. This is typical of all pond liner construction (apart from some smaller pond liners) and shouldn’t be of concern as it is very rare that a pond liner will fail. Generally all pond liners are formed out of long strips of material joined together.

Pond Liner Repair

Unfortunately there is the possibility that a pond liner may suffer a puncture or a tear during its lifetime. Often this will occur during construction or after a visit from a hungry heron! Fortunately, we have years of experience dealing with these problems and have a range of inexpensive and effective pond liner repair materials.
