I used it to pick up surface debris. It picked up a lot of weeds blocking the vacuum which meant dismantling it to clear the blockage. When used to collect silt very little stayed in the net as it was too fine

Whilst I can see the principle behind the design it doesn’t really achieve the suction required for the removal of debris at the bottom of a water feature.
