Lighter and easier to adjust than rubber but you don't get the same finish. I have used rubber for my main pond as I know it stands the test of time and you can get a neater finish.
This pond is shallower and only has 3 small gold fish in it and is in a quite spot at the back of the garden intended for visiting wildlife. Longevity is not as critical but I am interested to see how it stands the tests of time.

The underlay was very thin infact we thought it was a normal weed supressant. We thought the underlay would be somewhat padded.
